Description
EKG’s first and only album was recorded mostly in 1990. The seven-track album is a 40-minute art rock suite, centred on György Sárközi’s 1944 poem Rain Drops.
Zsolt Bolla, singer, guitarist, drummer, and Sándor Mándoki, keyboardist and bassist, have asked their old friend Ádám Török, known from Bem Rockpart 6, to play as a guest. In addition to the wonderful flute playing, he also helped to program the drum machines.
As the planned album was not released in 1991, the completed album was only distributed as private copies and demos for many years. Until thirty years later, in 2021, in preparation for the 75th anniversary of Ádám Török, it was decided to include Rain Drops in Ádám’s archive CD series. Gyugyó, Sanyi and Jozé, who was asked to produce the album, started to prepare the release of a remastered version of the material, with the bonus of the “single versions” edited for radio stations. Then came the war and the energy crisis, and unfortunately the 75/55 anniversary concert had to be postponed, as did the related releases. Then Adam left us unexpectedly and many projects were put on hold.
The Rain Drops CD, features a new mastered audio by Péter Kirschner, with a beautiful photo by László Bolla as the front cover. The disc, packaged in transparent jewel case, comes with a 16-page booklet: archive photos, a description of the band by Sándor Mándoki, a poem by György Sárközi and all the other lyrics.
