A szakmai bizotts\u00e1g az \u00c9v World Music Zenekara c\u00edmet adom\u00e1nyozta a Djab\u00e9nak. A komoly elismer\u00e9s azonban nem \u00e1llt meg az orsz\u00e1ghat\u00e1rokn\u00e1l, hiszen ennek az albumnak hat\u00e1s\u00e1ra kapta els\u0151 k\u00fclf\u00f6ldi megh\u00edv\u00e1sait az egy\u00fcttes. Az\u00f3ta m\u00e1r k\u00f6zel 50 orsz\u00e1gban szerepeltek sikerrel.<\/p>\n

A 2001-es meg\u00fajul\u00e1s sor\u00e1n a zenekarba \u00faj sz\u00f3lista \u00e9rkezett, Kov\u00e1cs Ferenc szem\u00e9ly\u00e9ben, aki trombit\u00e1n \u00e9s heged\u0171n is gazdag\u00edtotta a hangz\u00e1st. Sipos Andr\u00e1s \u00fct\u0151hangszeres mell\u00e9 a fiatal dobos, Banai Szil\u00e1rd ker\u00fclt, akivel j\u00f3l kieg\u00e9sz\u00edtve egym\u00e1st kit\u0171n\u0151 \u00fct\u0151s szekci\u00f3t alkottak. Teljesen \u00faj funkci\u00f3 volt a zenekar t\u00f6rt\u00e9net\u00e9ben a billenty\u0171s Kov\u00e1cs Zolt\u00e1n \u00e9rkez\u00e9se. A r\u00e9gi tagok k\u00f6z\u00fcl Sipos Andr\u00e1s mellett Barab\u00e1s Tam\u00e1s basszusgit\u00e1ros \u00e9s \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi Attila git\u00e1ros maradtak a zenekarban, mivel Muck Ferenc szaxofonos az \u00e9v v\u00e9g\u00e9n t\u00e1vozott az egy\u00fcttesb\u0151l. 1997-t\u0151l 2000-ig a Djabe hangz\u00e1s\u00e1t er\u0151sen meghat\u00e1rozta a szaxofon, \u00edgy joggal mer\u00fclt fel az ig\u00e9ny, hogy ez a hangszer tov\u00e1bbra is legyen jelen. A szaxofonos Londonb\u00f3l \u00e9rkezett, a vil\u00e1gsz\u00ednvonal\u00fa muzsikus Ben Castle szem\u00e9ly\u00e9ben, aki mag\u00e1val hozta fuvol\u00e1j\u00e1t \u00e9s a basszusklarin\u00e9tot is. Az Update felv\u00e9telein k\u00f6zrem\u0171k\u00f6d\u00f6tt m\u00e9g a Magyarorsz\u00e1gon \u00e9l\u0151, marokk\u00f3i \u00e9nekes-\u00fct\u0151hangszeres Sa\u00efd Tichiti is, aki jellegzetes marokk\u00f3i n\u00e9pies gembri j\u00e1t\u00e9k\u00e1val \u00e9s \u00e9nekhangj\u00e1val k\u00fcl\u00f6nleges \u00edzt adott a First Step c\u00edm\u0171 kompoz\u00edci\u00f3nak.<\/p>\n

A zene a Djabe 1996-2000 k\u00f6z\u00f6tti world music domin\u00e1ns hangz\u00e1s\u00e1hoz k\u00e9pest \u00f6sszetettebb lett \u00e9s elmozdult a jazz ir\u00e1ny\u00e1ba is. Ez nagyban k\u00f6sz\u00f6nhet\u0151 Barab\u00e1s Tam\u00e1s szerzem\u00e9nyeinek, melynek nagy r\u00e9sz\u00e9t \u00c9gerh\u00e1zi Attil\u00e1val k\u00f6z\u00f6sen jegyzi.<\/p>\n

Az eMeRTon d\u00edj mellett a CD-t Magyar Zenei D\u00edjra is jel\u00f6lt\u00e9k, mely mutatja, hogy a zenekar tov\u00e1bbra is n\u00e9pszer\u0171 volt a hazai k\u00f6z\u00f6ns\u00e9g k\u00f6r\u00e9ben is. A kiadv\u00e1ny eredetileg CD-n \u00e9s kazett\u00e1n jelent meg. 2011-ben elk\u00e9sz\u00fclt az album surround kever\u00e9se, melyet DVD-Audio lemezen adtak ki k\u00e9t v\u00e1ltozatban is. Az egylemezes csomagol\u00e1s mellett k\u00e9sz\u00fclt egy dupla DVD v\u00e1ltozat is. The band earned prestigious eMeRTon award in Hungary in 2001 with Update. The Djabe music kept its original values, but the band made a further step on the road of improvement. The compositions and arrangement became more complex and are of a higher standard; new musicians made richer the already colourful palette of the sound.
